The Test
- A Vitamin D Project test can be taken to give a ‘snapshot’ of your Vitamin D levels
- Results will be affected by season and other variations (see Vitamin D facts)
- Ideally, 3 Vitamin D Tests should be taken at different times of the year in order to get an accurate picture of Vitamin D levels
- The graph on the right is based on data published by Hyponen et al. It shows the distribution of Vitamin D levels in 45-year-old British adults
- Based on the data shown in the graph, we would advise testing at 3 different times of the year to get the most accurate picture of your Vitamin D status
- Accurate knowledge of your Vitamin D status in conjunction with vitamin D supplementation and modification of lifestyle will enable you to maintain lifelong healthy Vitamin D levels
